FAQs
Here you will find some of our Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs). These are some of the common questions which many students ask me about my tutoring service.
Tutoring Questions
What is the process for booking a course?
In the first instance, please arrange a 15-minute call with me through Calendly to talk about how I can help. If I think that I can, then you will be directed to a link to book the relevant course. It is a very straightforward process and made easy for you to enrol.
Do you provide group or individual tutoring?
I have a mixture of group courses and individual tutoring programmes to suit your specific needs. Please enquire and book a call to find out more.
How does your 1 to 1 tutoring work?
After the initial call, I will understand the needs of the student and tailor a 1-2-1 individualised tutoring programme. This could involve mastering course content, exam question practice, exam preparation techniques, assistance with assignments and essays.
I have particular experience in helping students with re-sitting ‘A’ Levels where they have not acheived the grade they need.
How does your group tutoring work?
My courses are designed to combine group learning with individualised attention. Students access video lessons weekly, taking ownership of their learning and preparing for the group sessions. I also provide a direct line of communication with each student, encouraging them to reach out with questions and submit work for review.
This way, progress can be made both individually and as part of the group learning experience. The result is that much more progress is made each week when compared to 1-2-1 tuition where, depending on the student, progress can be much slower.
My group tuition is structured around three core pillars:
(1) Self-study. Students can access a pre-recorded curriculum in the form of video content. This approach doesn’t waste valuable time as students don’t have to wait for the next lesson or content to be delivered. They simply progress at their own pace and are more productive.
(2) One-to-one feedback. Students can reach out to their tutor between lessons if they are unsure of anything or need further clarification. I provide personalised feedback using efficient tools such as screen recordings and voice notes, so that students get quick and real-time feedback. Time is not wasted progressing between lessons.
(3) Group learning. Students can share their perspectives on the learning and go deeper into subjects with me. This tends to result in much faster progress.
1-2-1 tutoring tends to lack many of these elements, where all the focus is on the allocated lesson time. This can sometimes be inefficient and stressful for the student and tutor.
General Questions
Which 'A' Level exam boards do you cover?
I teach the following the ‘A’ Level in Business exam board syllabuses:
- AQA
Do you tutor and other subjects or exam boards?
No. I only teach AQA ‘A’ Level in Business.
This is because I believe in specialism and expertise to get the best results for my students. As a result I know the syllabus and exam inside out and can convey this knowledge directly to my students.
Can I enrol on multiple courses?
Yes. You are able to enrol on multiple courses. I find that many top performing students enrol on the Summer Course to help them prepare for the ‘A’ Level for the school year ahead and then enrol on the Mastery Course a few months later where their subject knowledge is developed at a deeper level.
For those students wanting a more personalised approach to learning, then 1-2-1 tutoring is available.
